This is a box design by Tony Lydgate called Mountain Stronghold that I
built for my Mom's birthday. The top panels and drawer fronts are
Zebrawood. The legs, drawer sides (except for one drawer...), drawer
dividers and end caps are Cocobolo. One of the drawers has Bloodwood
sides due to a router slip on the last of the Cocobolo. Oops. :) The
deadline for the gift was such that I didn't have time to get more
Cocobolo, but I had this wonderful piece of thin Bloodwood...

The finish was good ol' Danish Oil (Natural), rubbed out with 150
through 1000 grit sandpaper then polished with pumice stone.

The wood for this came from Cocobolo Inc. in rough 4/4 stock that I surfaced myself. I'll buy more from them for sure.

This is why I like Cocobolo. Look at the figure on these dividers.

The drawers, half-blind dovetails secure the sides.

This is the skeleton of the box.

Almost finished, just have to add the end caps.

The finished box. This sucker is heavy...
